Private Pilot Course

The private pilot's license is the first rung on the ladder of aviation training and development.

A person holding a private pilot license is allowed to be pilot-in-command of a single-engine aircraft for recreational and or personal use in generally good or fair weather conditions. The pilot may transport passengers, however, not for compensation or hire.

Admission Requirements


  • 16 years or older
  • Discovery Flight Certificate (optional)
  • Be well-versed in the English Language

THE MINIMUM REQUIRED HOURS BY THE JCAA REGULATIONS IS 40 HOURS; HOWEVER THIS MAY NOT BE SUFFICENT FOR INDIVIDUAL CASES FOR SOME INDIVIDUALS TO ATTAIN FLIGHT PROFICEIENCY AN ADDITIONAL 5-10 HOURS OF FLIGHT TRAINING MAY BE NECESSARY PRIOR TO TAKING THE PRACTICAL FLIGHT TEST EXAMINATION.
